About the CWTS Certification The Certified Wireless Technology Specialist (CWTS) is a vendor-neutral certification administered by CWNP. This brand new certification is the only entry-level vendor neutral wireless certification for IT Professionals, and was developed for IT support staff who work with wireless technologies. It is a springboard to the foundation-level Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA), and more advanced Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP) and Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE) certifications. THE Best Intro to Wi-Fi TechnologyAug 26, 2010

CWTS candidates, please skip this review and just buy the book. It is the only study guide officially recognized by the CWNP; if you read and re-read it until you understand every word, you WILL pass the exam. CWNA and CCNA Wireless candidates should also strongly consider starting here as well.
To everyone else, business-minded or technical, I still can not praise this book highly enough. Anyone looking for a vendor-neutral overview of wireless networking written in industry-standard language need look no further. While designed for test prep, any reader will take away the knowledge necessary to set up and secure a SOHO access point or intelligently discuss business requirements with a network consultant. And unlike other technical titles, you might actually enjoy reading this!

Mr. Bartz does an outstanding job providing a functional overview of wireless technology. His book not only provides a great basic understanding of the wireless world but also a clear layout of how all the various facets interoperate. Obtaining a CWTS cert? This is the book to get!

This is an excellent introduction into 802.11 technology. It is relatively easy to understand because it is well written and not overly technical.

I didn't buy this book on Amazon, I found it elsewhere. I did however read this book once, keeping track of all the quiz scores, including the pre-test at the beginning of the book. I only read it once, and re-read two chapters. When I registered for the exam via CWNP, they gave me two free practice exams. Did both of those, and took the test. In total, I spent about 2 and a half weeks from the time I started the book, until I sat for the exam, and passed with an 86%. Not too bad. This book is pretty decent, not overly technical, and pretty broad. The author's writing style is enough to keep you from falling asleep too, which is great. I've got 8 years of IT experience, so that might have helped a bit, but I still found this to be an interesting read. If you read this book you will pass. I'd suggest you take the pre-test at the beginning, and keep track if the score, along with all the tests at the end of each chapter, then take the pre-test again after you finish the book. If you do this, and get at least an 85% on the intro test the second time, I'd say you'll likely pass the exam.

This is the only book I used for the exam, and i passed with a 90. Its an easy read, the topics are well organized and to the point. Read this book cover to cover and you will pass the CWTS.
