From the supplier: Computer intrusion detection system (IDS) software monitors the corporate internal network and identifies suspicious network activity. Given that every organization can be victimized with computer network intrusion by external hackers or internal employees, using IDS software is a good idea. IDS can be installed alone or in combination with a firewall to collect and interpret audit data from across the network.
