Never before has our society been so information and technology driven. Because computers, data communications, and data storage devices have become ubiquitous, few crimes or civil disputes do not involve them in some way. This book teaches law enforcement, system administrators, information technology security professionals, legal professionals, and students of computer forensics how to identify, collect, and maintain digital artifacts to preserve their reliability for admission as evidence. It has been updated to take into account changes in federal rules of evidence and case law that directly address digital evidence, as well as to expand upon portable device collection. | | | Product Details: | | | Author:

By mkemp This book I really needed for my computer evidence class; I was pretty impressed on the condition, and how great the condition the book was in. The price was decent, and the book is really interesting on reading it. If you need this book for college, then you need to get it from Amazon.
Had to get it for classJul 07, 2011
By GruntsBabyGirl I had to get this book for a class I'm taking, and it's pretty good, given the following conditions: 1) Computer forensics is a new field and therefor by the time any book is published about it, it's already outdated. 2) It's for class 3) It focuses mainly on specific programs and there's not much general, which makes sense, but it would still be nice for it to cover more than just specific programs and their history.
A few good points: It's easy to follow It doesn't get technical and always repeats what acronyms stand for (which bothers me, but that's just because I'm a Computer Science major)
A survey of computer forensics and data storage evidenceOct 13, 2009
By Midwest Book Review Computers and data storage devices have become entwined in all parts of society and business and law enforcement and information technology professionals alike will thus find key Christopher L.T. Brown's 2nd updated edition of Computer Evidence: Collection and Preservation, a survey of computer forensics and data storage evidence. The focus on digital evidence in court cases provides a fine survey for computer forensics students and tells how to preserve case integrity during the computer examination process. Law enforcement libraries especially will welcome this.
