 awful verbose textbook on DBMSMay 31, 2010

This is an awful book to study. The author did not bother to provide clear definition of the terminology nor symbols used in the book beforehand. Instead, he tried to introduce ideas through verbose illustration of some examples which were often confusing. Furthermore, the index at the end of book is rather useless as it failed to list many key concepts and notations (especially for the Entity-Relationship Diagram). The tbook by Michael Mannino is a much better text for the subject.
