Chinese New Year children's bookFeb 06, 2010
By Suzie Q I bought this book for my granddaughter to help her understand the traditional Chinese New Year culture. Every year for Chinese New Year, we take in the festivities in our local Chinatown and being this was her first experience, I wanted to give her some kind of background. This book is great.

Kai-Lan Chinese New Year BookAug 15, 2010

Kai-Lan's Happy Chinese New Year is a great book. It follows the show, so my 2 year old daughter understood the characters and story line right away. If your child likes Kai-Lan, this is a good book to read with her. I really like the English/Chinese/Pronounciation reference at the back.
I bought the book because my daughter requested a "book in chinese" and this one has about as much as I can handle (uses Chinese words that I hear on Ni-Hao Kai-Lan [the TV Show]) since I am not a Chinese speaker.
I bought 3 Kai-Lan books at one time, and this one has the most Chinese, which I like.
