Although these technologies have been around for over twenty years, this legislative move will surely boost e-commerce activity. Secure electronic business transactions, such as contracts, legal documents, insurance, and bank loans are now legally recognized. In order to adjust to the realities of the marketplace, other services may be needed, such as a non-repudiation service, digital notary, or digital time-stamping service. The collection of these components, known as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), is paving the way for secure communications within organizations and on the public Internet. | | | Product Details: | | | Author:

Watch out! All the five star reviews about this book look dubious to meSep 03, 2011

"Tellingmachine"
All the reviews say basically the same thing: The book is a must buy. They all start with the authors name in the first sentence. They don't really say anything about the book's content in detail. Also, most of the reviews have been submitted within a couple of days. Before and after were hardly any reviews. It looks fishy to me.
Secure communications blueprintJul 03, 2004
Mr. Vacca's book is an excellent resource for anyone interested in secure communications within their organizations and on the internet. He begins with the basics and takes us through analysis and design all the way to implementation and management of PKI's. It is truly a comprehensive book.
Good reference materialJul 02, 2004
By Clint Bond I currently work in the outsourcing IT world and am pursuing my MBA. I am currently writing a paper for my IT class about the security problems a global economy presents. This book shows how to implement PKI, how long one might expect it to take, and how it can be done. The major thing I like about the book is the way it is divided into small sections and the excellent charts to illustrate how this technology works.
Secure Internet - fact or fiction ??Jul 01, 2004
By William D. Watson John Vaccas recent book dealing with Public Key Infrastruture (PKI)goes a long way to answering this question. With the tremendous need for true secure internet services PKI implementation is paramount. This book covers the various issues of PKI from start to finish. Adding to the tremedous knowledge of John Vacca are contributions from various knowlegable colleagues. The risks that are involved if proper security is not implemented are what makes this book and it's vast wealth of knowledge a must read!
A Most Excellent BookJun 28, 2004
John Vacca has done it again. His book shows globally how Public Key Infrastructures (PKIs) are paving the way for secure communications within organizations and on the public Internet. It also shows how, with the appropriate layers of security throughout the network, a PKI can put to rest the concerns of how to protect assets, freeing you to concentrate on adding value to your employees, your customers, and your business partners. The book also takes a close look at what constitutes effective public key ifrastructures, why their protection is crucial to success, and some thoughts for your consideration prior to implementing your own PKI.
