Electronic Engineer learns a lot from RTLS for DummiesMay 07, 2010 As an Electronic Engineer moving into the RTLS market, RTLS for Dummies gave me an excellent overview and multiple case studies for RTLS deployments that I will be working on. Great book!Apr 26, 2010 I recommend this book to anyone who is planning to deploy Wireless Location Based Tracking. Ajay has put together different technologies that are out there in the market that can be used to implement RTLS. For each technology, the author describes the technology and then provides the pros/cons of using that technology. He also provides many questions that you should be asking your technology vendors to achieve your ROI(return on investment). Thumbs Up!
Great for Executives as wellApr 23, 2010 This book provides an easy to understand overview (and details) of the technology and industry. It is very well organized and interesting to read. RTL from a "Brainy"Apr 08, 2010 Ajay Malik has provided an excellent overview and case studies for RTLS deployments. After reading this book, you will be in the position to understand the key considerations in selecting and deploying a RTLS system. Comprehensive coverage of RTLS technologiesSep 02, 2009 Would recommend this book to anyone who is actively working with Location Based
Services, or is planning on working with Location Based Services. The initial
sections of the book gives comprehensive use cases, where location based
services are/can be used. The author then goes into the details of different
technologies that are out there in the market that can be used to implement
these services. For each technology, the author first describes the technology
and then discusses the pros/cons of using that technology to implement the
solution. These gives a very good idea, of what technology should be used from
the cost/technical perspective for a particular solution. For e.g. what is the
expected responsiveness of RTLS for your particular solution, what is the
accuracy that you desire, is it room-level or is zone-level good enough,
how big a tag is acceptable for your solution, what is the expected battery
life of the tag. This book is a must read for anyone interested in Location
based services.
