From the supplier: Advances in fiber optic technology are making it easier to prevent nuisance or false alarms and to detect intrusions more effectively. Of the fence-mounted sensors available in the market, fiber optic sensors capable of detecting vibration and variations in pressure are the most versatile and efficient in achieving both objectives. Their effectiveness, however, depends on how security managers deal with factors such as fence characteristics, the configuration of the detection system, weather, animal intrusion, design and installation, system testing and maintenance issues.
